If you live in an area where they aren't used to frigid temps, you might want to let your faucets trickle/drip at night to prevent your pipes from freezing. It helps to reduce pressure. We also keep the doors to the cabinets open in the kitchen and bathrooms at night so warm air gets inside.

The heat pump needs resetting so may times OMG - I now the feeling

My wife used to do this with our tub when we lived in an older house during the winter season.

Exterior walls can sometimes be vulnerable. I had a friend whose pipes froze every winter!!

The bad part is that the tub pipes were visible underneath the house and the house had poor insulation. We ended up moving because the floors were deteriorating from the flood that hit the town back in 2017.

Two very good tips. We had a winter freeze sweep through the part of the US where I live, and so many of my neighbors didn't winterize or bother to do anything. Even simple steps like dripping the faucets can save you so much money later to preserve your pipes.

These are both good tips, but I also want to add that you should also winterize and protect any exposed pipes you have outside

I did cut the water off from the main and open all faucets. Everything got frozen for a couple of days around here, but all
pipes are good! I just connected the water back on a couple of hours ago.
