I can remember one person in general who used to do this. It was the same story over and over. On one forum in particular the administrator called him out in one of the threads. I can't remember the whole story but it was pretty funny. It sure slowed him down for a while though.

Oh, there was this one member on a forum I was on, and he has made 7 accounts since August. And it's so obvious that it's the same member, same spelling, grammar, and almost the same name.

Ugh. This I hate like hell. There is one forum I'm on and the first ten pages of the google search results for ''Free Web Proxy'' are banned because of those idiots. The worst though are the ones with Dynamic IPs because they can be anything. Back last may I had a serious problem with one or two guys from my year who used to spam my site every night... I put on Admin Validation and problem solved. It did slow down the growth greatly though...

Yeah, people that use proxies are annoying. That's why you get mods that are in different time zones to patrol all the time. 🙂

The problem with these people is that they think that if they keep doing this that we'll just get tired of banning them and let them stay.

Multiple accounting...I will see them banned... account after account, no matter how long it takes for them to get the hell out.

If they wanted to appeal to their ban, they could've simply contacted me via e-mail, and we could've worked something out.

Yep, they annoy me. They do in a way add some excitement to your day as it is something different as you get used to doing the same thing day in day out and it makes a change to have to spend hours checking ip addresses and all new account and change the user registration settings and all that stuff.

You must never give in to these people, keep banning them until they give up :yes:

On the downside: it makes more work for the admin / mod to be deleting them all the time.

This has happened to me numerous times. Sometimes they would just keep creating several accounts. I usually just ignored them and they go away themselves.

I've had to deal with many of them in the past, i've found the best thing to do is just to just keep banning them, deleting their posts etc and don't give them the satisfaction they want by getting annoyed, retaliating or announcing it publicly, after all it's obvious they're just after attention.

I would say that that's the best thing to do is just to keep banning them until they give up. Then once they realize they aren't getting the attention they're after, they'll just leave.

I had another case yesterday of a guy I banned twice coming back for his third glorious return... The guy is an obvious idiot... he chooses the same name each time.

I have to admit, I keep going back to this one forum called Reverse Lamity even though they keep banning me. Lulzy how they keep unbanning me 😀

And I find banning the multiple accs very fun.
