A decade ago, you were seeing all sorts of people using .tk domains, given that they were being provided for free. Then there was a whole ordeal with these domains being used to mask phishing websites and other things like that. I believe Google also completely removed .tk domains from their searches at one point in time. Does anyone still use .tk domains? Why or why not? Especially when it comes to hiding sub-domains on free forum hosts.

.tk was highly used for a while but I don’t think I have seen any .tk domains in a long time.

I’m not sure but it reminds me of .co.cc domains also.

Seen it a couple of times over the years but not recent. I do not see the point

The .tk domains have a very bad reputation of being abused by spammers and hosters of malware, due to the fact that they’re available for free. So no, most people don’t use them for public facing website anymore.

Many popular websites ban outbound .tk links for this very reason.

Would it benefit to snag up the free domain names for your website if you already have a TLD such as a .com, .co, .org or .net?

I remember .tk domains they used to be every where I used to use them as they were free

I do remember Co.cc domains too they used to be free and I remember I had a site on a co.cc too

Times have changed for me and mostly others so I now mainly use. .com addresses or tld that is more common for today's market

I don't think it really matters to me as I'm not interested in SEO. Other sources like PPC or social media can be good enough. Well, I like social media for traffic as I can access my large social media following (not bragging lol).

I've never used a .tk domain because I don't like in Turkey and never used the freebies either.
