*sigh* I knew that no one here would know what it is.
Defense of the Ancients(DotA) was a Warcraft III mod made in 2003, probably one of the greatest mods ever made. It was so popular that Valve purchased rights and made a sequel on perhaps the greatest game engine ever made, the Source engine.
For those that played the original DotA, this is a huge deal, for those that haven't, well, not so big of a deal.
But let me put it in a way most people will understand.... League of Legends is a cheap ripoff of DotA.
