Dragon Ball Z - Anime or no?

So, I have been in this little debate with Cosmic a couple of times, where he thinks Dragon Ball Z is not an anime, when I know it is one. Infact, when one searches for Dragon Ball Z online, it mentions that it is an anime in a number of places.

Dragon Ball Z (ドラゴンボールＺ, Doragon Bōru Zetto; commonly abbreviated as DBZ) is the long-running sequel to the anime Dragon Ball. The series is a close adaptation of the second (and far longer) portion of the Dragon Ball manga written and drawn by Akira Toriyama. In the United States, the manga's second portion is also titled Dragon Ball Z to prevent confusion for younger readers.

It totally is. I mean I can see why people might think it was, especially if you just watched the dubs. I mean I remember thinking Voltron and Sailor Moon weren't. But I didn't know what anime was back then.

But yeah, it is. As a matter of fact its one of the few anime's my brother will tolerate. He usually hates all anime.

Cosmic would be right. Dragon Ball Z is an anime....but anime of any kind .....animation is a cartoon.

The Dragonball Z show (important distinction) would be an anime, and there's a manga (comic) that was written beforehand. 🙂

Its an anime for sure seeing as it was made in Japan and has a manga series
