Drogba coin throwing incident

I think Drogba should be warned and that is it.

Fans should show the players a bit of respect and not throw a coin at him, the fan should also be banned/charged.

I've actually just written a rant about this!

Once upon a time, a certain Drogba scored a goal.
The Drogba was happy, and celebrated the goal in
front of the nearest stand there was.
Unfortunatly, that stand was full of Burnley fans.
Once particular Burnley fan was a total and complete idiot.
This Burnley fan decided to chuck a coin at Drogba.
Drogba, reacting as any normal human being would,
chucked the coin back.

So who do you think got punished?

The pillock who decided to throw the coin in the first place?

No.

Drogba is going to get punished.

What about the moron who started it, you're asking.

As it stands, absolutely nothing.

This is ridiculous.

British law clearly states that you may defend yourself
to the same extent as you were attacked.
If having a coin chucked at you isn't attack, nothing is.

OK, Drogba was wrong to chuck it back, but it's natural!

If I punch you in the groin, you return the favour!
If I hit you in the temple, you try to do that to me!
If I chuck a coin at you, you chuck it back!

This is the vital point!

Human instinct dictates that we do to others what they do to us!

Simple as, case closed.

Meanwhile, the match ended 1-1, with Burnley winning on penalties.

This is a great day for football!

Top 4 dominance is now, arguably, broken, with Liverpool also falling!

Or is it just the wheels coming off at Chelsea?

In roughly 85 home games, Chelsea have lost exactly 2.

Both have come in the space of 3 games...

Make of it what you will!

But whether Chelsea are losing it or not, whether Drogba
is an idiot or not, there is never, never an
excuse to lob a coin at another human being.

And you never have the right to complain when they do the same back to you.

If the fan gets caught he could face a permanent ban from the ground. Drogba on the other hand who did exactly the same thing will get a short ban or a slap round the head.

Now say that Drogba is being hard done by? When Drogba has served his punishment he can carry on where as the fan can't see any home game again for doing exactly the same as Drogba but Drogba just did it when the camera was on him.

Over reaction in my opinion, but they should both suffer a similar punishment though.

Who's more to blame, guy 1 who attacks another guy 2 with a knife, or guy 2 for turning the knife round and stabbing guy 1?!

Both just as much as they both committed the same offence didn't they and Drogba didn't have to throw it back did he? Only because someone throw it at him first doesn't mean that he can throw it back an don't forget that Drogba didn't throw it at the person who throw it at him so he could have injured someone else.

It is like me punching Drogba and then Drogba punching you. If Drogba aimed at the person who throw it at him then it might have been more the other persons fault but it could have seriously injured an innocent person. Also Drogba is in the public eye so he should especially not react as he is a role model for some people.

On top of that children look up to players like Drogba, and by him doing this isn't exactly setting a good example for the next generation.

Yeah but also children look up to adults and if they see an adult throwing a coin then that isn't setting a good example either.

The fan should not have done it, he probably did know that Drogba was going to retaliate. He was showing the player no respect at all.

At the end of the day they are both idiots and did the same thing wrong and it wasn't more one persons fault so the punishments should be the same but i can see it being another case as one rules for the public and 1 rule for footballers.

Well, it is the person who threw the coins fault more because he started it by throwing it first. ~lol~

True, but at the end of the day Drogba is the one that is going to be seen by everyone, and the media will pick on Drogba. The chances of a kid seeing the adult throw the coin with hundreds of fans sat around him are very slim.

Just like Everton fans on Derby day? ~lol~ I bet Gerrard loves them ~lol~

Know your facts Christian, Everton only started singing that because of the Liverpools fans singing about Joleon Lescott looking like the elephant man, saying racists things to Yakubu and singing 'your just a fat purple aki' , keeping the ball away from Tim Howard and not to mention SPITTING and PUNCHING Phil Neville (and giving him a load of abuse).

Oh and singing in a previous derby to Lee Carsley 'your baby can't walk' because his baby has down syndrome.

Banned

Last night Drogba admitted to the FA charges of Violent Misconduct. A disciplinary panel today immediately imposed a three-match ban on the Chelsea Forward.

What goes around comes around eh?

Hmm, I thought they might have punished him a bit more. You know what the FA are like.

I suppose Chelsea won't miss him to much with the form Anelka is in.

What about the pillock who threw it in the first place, eh?!
He shouldnt have reacted like that, but as I said, it's human nature!
