Description: Dustjacket is a new forum dedicated to the celebration of all things storytelling and storytelling-related. We conduct interviews with filmmakers, videogame developers, as well as aspiring writers. We're now developing a "Log," so that Jacketeers can keep track of their favorite stories and ones in their queue they need to check out. Our hope is to offer a unique platform that offers something a little different to the forum community formula while retaining what makes us love them first and foremost.

Looks like a great foundation you have built! All the best, I hope you have great success!

Thanks, I am really excited about it. I used to run forums off-and-on as a twerp (back when I was 13, all the way until high school - this account I'm posting on is over a decade old!) and fell out from the habit. However, I never forgot about how much I enjoyed them in their heyday. I am hoping it can scratch that itch and also challenge me to do things I haven't as much as I'd like (i.e. watch more movies, read more, and challenge myself creatively).

Ah, sounds like you definitely contracted the forum bug many of us have 🙂. I was much the same, I got into posting on forums in the mid-90s as a kid, started my first one at 14 and never looked back. Forums are such an amazing platform, it's great to see anyone who shares that passion getting into or back into the forum world.

I hope it does indeed scratch that itch for you now and for many years to come 😉

I have such nostalgia for it. It challenged me both from an intellectual (dealing with codes and things outside my realm of expertise) standpoint and an emotional (dealing with opinions that didn't always align with my own, etc.) standpoint which I feel helped me become a better person. Likewise, too, with Dustjacket, I am hoping to scratch my more analytic tendencies (like logging movies, organizing tournaments and creating a database that others can add to and build).

Oh absolutely, those are very worthwhile challenges you'll definitely have fun with! I agree, forums are character building and having to problem solve and come up with unique solutions for things truly does help shape you in a unique way!

What a great name! Very unique. I wish you the best of luck with it 🙂

Nice looking forum, I just joined! I also enjoyed reading the backstory of how Dustjacket Social came to be. 🙂

I registered, eagerly waiting for my administration approval.
How odd. Dustjacket doesn't require administration approval for registries. Did you register as "Jake"? Our spam guard didn't like that one bit, haha. It flagged the name automatically. You're approved. Can't wait to here from you!

Why on earth would Jake be flagged? lol

It's because (and I mean this with no offense), Jake is considered a more general name that a spammer might use. Like Bob, Bill, Jim, etc., that's my guess. That's the default settings for XenForo, nothing I implemented.
