DVD issue

What causes a DV not to be read with a DVD player, if it works in a computer... Would cleaning the DVD fix the problem?

Or cleaning the lense in the DVD player.

Some DVD's don't play recorded DVD's so if you recorded something off the tv on another DVD player then try to play it sometimes it doesn't work, same as if you play copied movies and films some DVD players don't like these.
