Probably not but I'm a bit of an anomaly. I believe recycling is for the most part, a dangerous con. I'm also convinced that the majority of people on this planet would not for one minute entertain what it would really take to have a major impact on global warming.Did you do anything to save the planet today?

The benefits of reducing our carbon footprint from recycling are grossly overestimated. For example less than 10% of plastics are recycled and what results from that is a horror story. In short recycled plastics are so toxic in so many ways they shouldn't be legal. If this sounds like a conspiracy theory, research micro-plastics and their impact on human life.
We need to learn to reuse not recycle and avoid plastics especially when it comes to our food. We also need to accept that unless we are prepared to go backwards in time to a pre-industrial lifestyle we have zero chance of slowing global warming.
Not really, I got a free day off because the kids weren't feeling well yesterday. I mostly just cleaned house.Looks like it's Earth Day! Did you do anything to save the planet today?
We export all our soft plastics to other European countries to be incinerated, buried or in some cases dumped, illegally.Well, the US was relying on China to recycle plastics and they stopped doing that for the most part, so what happened? The recycling companies are now just dumping the recycling and not actually recycling because the US didn't expect to have to handle the process themselves!!

Tracking Devices Reveal Where Recycling Really Goes
Bloomberg placed trackers in three plastic bags and dropped them in Tesco supermarket recycling bins around London. Their journey revealed a netherworld of contractors, brokers and exporters that looks less like the circular economy and more like a game of pass-the-buck. (Source: Bloomberg)www.bloomberg.com
Although it's picked up by the same company we have the same issue. Ironically we can face a hefty fine for putting the wrong thing in the wrong bin.Sometimes our trash guys will just take both the trash and the recycling at the same time, even though we're paying for separate pick ups by different departments.
