Did you know, the earthquake in Chile rocked the world so much the axis of the Earth moved 3 inches. Causing days to be 1-2 milliseconds shorter. When you start adding it up, days will become a lot shorter.

The shaking of the Earth knocked it's tilt off. Days will become shorter if we keep getting earthquakes like the ones in chile and haiti, we will have definate shorter days.

Actually, it's microseconds, not milliseconds, so the first half of your statement and all of that statement. And it's also 1.26 microseconds to be exact.

Which means, in a nutshell, it'll take 2,174 years to lose a second of time, and 130,440 years to lose a minute of time.

It's not uncommon for earth quakes to affect the length of the day, I believe it was an earth quake in... 2004?... that did the same, shortened the day by microseconds

Tilt doesn't really effect the Earth's orbit around the sun, just tips the axis a little.
