We don't do holidays. Used to have big get-togethers when I was growing up but it was always strained. People came 'cos they 'had to' not 'cos they wanted to. Now, we just visit my parents or they visit us. Not so much for the holiday but 'cos my husband has some days off usually.
No and I mean that strongly. The holiday belongs to Eostre. I don't worship Eostre. Because it is and strictly was a Pagan holiday. That is who people are inadvertently celebrating.
Easter is not mentioned in any Bible at all. It was only mentioned as the Pass Over in the Acts. If you really want to get down to the truth of it. The holiday was stolen and repurposed by Christianity. If you don't agree. By all means research it.
I celebrate Easter as Christ's Resurrection Day so it's important as a Christian to honor Him. My family usually has some gathering although there aren't many of us and we have traditional foods we enjoy such as ham, scalloped potatoes au gratin (yes, I know they're two different things but I combine the recipes), and deviled eggs (my sister's favorite).
