Which do you prefer to do more than the other? I generally won't eat out a ton, but I will if the occasion arises (like birthdays, traveling, or community events). What about you?

I've always preferred a good home-cooked meal as opposed to eating out. It likely stems from my mother being a VERY good cook, so we really never did eat out all that often as she would always prepare our favourite dishes on birthdays, holidays, etc.

Always nice to go out and eat out in a fine Restaurant and you like the meal, Yet eating out cost allot and so I tend to get more at home unless I'm away on holiday or something

I trained as a cook so like home cooking mostly, only go out if invited out for meal

Working long hours leads you to buying fast food, but i honestly rather home food, plus i find when you live alone, you tend never to cook unless its breakfast

We eat out once a week or once every 2 weeks. In fact we ate out last night before going to a funeral wake of my husband's aunt. For us, eating out is an occation whether there is an occasion or not. We carefully choose the restaurant so what we spend is worth the food. And when we eat out, it's just like a date and time for bonding. But we are aware that eating out often will cost money and may ruin our finances. It's all right to eat out once in a while only.

Eating out is too expensive in Norway, so I usually only do it for special occasions. When traveling, however, I usually eat out for every meal.

I agree with you. Breakfast is the only decent excuse I can come up with.

Eating out is one of my favorite things. I love to try new restaurants. Most meals though I prepare at home as we do like to save money so when we do eat out, we are able to afford nice ones.

I rather like ordering from my favorite restaurant and having it delivered to my door. Does that count as eating out?

Eating a home cooked meal is the best way to go in my view. It almost always tastes far better than what you can buy at a restaurant and it's more enjoyable to be around family/friends while eating, then a bunch of people you don't know. I get something quick every once in a while, but that's about it.

I come from a (poor) family that never really went out to have a meal.
Only really had that going on if we went to ikea or something but that's pretty much it, so i grew up with no fancy things going on like this and i am honestly not bothered about it

Eating out can be ridiculously expensive, sometimes so much it can make you extremely mad how much you have to pay somewhere for a tiny meal lol BUT nowadays i have done it more because i am together with someone who is actually used to going out for a meal

It's nice.... i like it , not cooking all the time is nice sometimes but i am perfectly happy with just eating at home. Rather spend my money on new clothing or something / more value for your money in my opinion

Same thing here. I would always choose home-cooked meal. Part of the reason might be because I am used to it, but I would prefer eating in my own kitchen, with my family as well. Eating outside as in pizzerias, sure, but restaurants and such, not really my thing. I have only gone to restaurants on really special occasions.

I don't know about you, but I eat out almost everyday. The real reason being is that my boss always brings everyone lunch where I work.
