Do you like ebook readers and why?.

I hate them, I much prefer a book. You can turn the pages hold it & electric isn't needed.

Paper books can be rather expensive (depending on where you buy them), and they take up a lot of space. They can be heavy to carry/travel with (especially when you have limited space in that vehicle).

Ebooks take up very small amounts of disc space (most books take less than a megabyte in .epub format) and you can fit thousands of them in a very compact profile on your reader device. Especially since most devices have multiple gigabytes of storage space. (By device, I mean that it can be: a dedicated reader, a tablet, your laptop/computer or many smart phones.)

Some ebook readers have touch screens to simulate page flipping or optional buttons to flip pages. Plus a lot of them can magnify text (great for people with vision troubles) or look up words and give their definition if the reader is not familiar with that word. And even though they require electricity (via battery power) a lot of them also have backlights or external lighting options to enable reading in the dark. Plus a lot of them can be used for several days to even a week or more's worth of reading on a single charge.
And depending on the device, it may also be able to connect to the internet to view web pages or play videos too. (Though using this option tends to increase power consumption considerably.)

Though sometimes there isn't a substitute for having an actual book in hand. There is still something about the feel of the page in hand.

But for me, I lean a bit more towards ebooks because they do tend to be more convenient for me (because I don't need to have massive bookshelves for a library of books and I can take them all with me wherever I want to go).

What If youve spent £££ on ebooks then your hard drive fails?.

You can usually download the ebooks again unless your account got deleted by the website, and you can't login to re-download it, the website deleted the ebook on their server, or the website went out of business.

I only like eBooks if they are a lot cheaper then the Paper version. Otherwise, if they are the same price, I buy the paperback book from a store, or borrow the paper book from the Library.

Books have got expensive becuase ebooks are so cheap, people buy ebooks insted and books have to increase price to make money.

I prefer printed books thank eBooks. Nothing can match the good old way. lol.

The main reason is, after spending half of the day before a monitor in my work, i would have to see an electronic display at night to read books. A paper book makes much difference to me.

An eInk display reader is better for reading eBooks because there is no back light, or reflection from lights in the room like monitor, laptop, tablet, and Smartphone screen. Eink is similar to displays found on calculators, and digital watches, but sharper, and the ability to display black and white pictures.

Eink reader has the ability to change the font style between sans and sans-serif fonts, and adjust the font size for easier reading without reading glasses.

The battery life last for weeks to months instead of hours. Some eBook eink reader also has text to speech for listening to your eBooks through headphones or built-in speaker.

I think eink readers also start up faster then laptops, tablets, and smartphones since eReaders are just use to display text, and simple images, so there is not much to load.
