Hey guys I put up a new blog about eBooks and whether they are good or bad. You can read the full post here: http://seelooh.com/lessons/too-ebook-or ... /#more-483

Snippet:

The new big craze as well as the new big downfall of the whole internet community at large. eBooks, which have a goofy uncapitilized ‘e’ at the beginning, making me not sure whether I capitalize it at the beginning of a sentence or not, are good and bad. But just mostly bad. Very bad.

It’s not every day your just waltzing down the streets of New York City and you see an Indian guy holding a makeshift book he wrote, waving it around chanting some bullsh*t at you. He’s screaming to you that this book he wrote and glued together with Gorilla Glue will make you $5,000 an hour. He says the method worked well for him, and he made $5,000 an hour every day for 12 hours a day. Thus by default we would conclude that this man is very well off, in-fact, we could conclude that if he earned $5,000 an hour, 12 hours a day, for lets say a year he would in-fact most dubiously be a multi millionaire.

So what the f**k is he doing on the corner of Ghetto and Park selling a makeshift book about earning $5,000 an hour? If you earned over $15 million in year, why would you be on this street corner. Why wouldn’t you at least have a legit copy of your book, on sale at Barnes N’ Nobles? Why are you selling to me like a scammy marketer trying to earn a few bucks? Do you guys get it now?

Feel free to discuss it here in this post or leave a comment on the blog, thanks!

eBooks can be a cheaper alternatives then books since there are no shipping and handling fees like real books.

Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, E-junkie, Clickbank, and iTunes sell audio and written eBooks, so they are making money with eBooks or they won't be selling them.

If the eBook is well written, interesting, provide good info, and is fairly price, I will consider buying it.

Every type of eBook that you listed in your blog has an exact paper or hardback counterpart, so that argument is basically completely void. The only difference is that the eBooks are more accessible, but if you're dumb enough to actually buy a book with a title like "Learn how to earn $10,000 in ten minutes!" then that isn't the eBook's fault, it's yours.

There is nothing at all wrong with eBooks, and to reject them is to thoughtlessly suppress a new medium through which we can enjoy both old and new literature.

Hobbies,

Nice! While that could be said for a good chunk of eBooks, a hardback counter-part doesn't exist for a big chunk as well, in contrary to what you said. When I talk about an eBook such as "how to find blogs with high pr backlinks" thats strictly a quick "book" on how to do one thing.

The point of the article wasn't to call people dumb for buying them, it was to raise awareness on good eBooks and bad eBooks, and which you shouldnt buy, and which you should. Thats all! Notice how I said they're GOOD eBooks out there. Calm down man ;]

I am perfectly calm, wasn't trying to get on your case.

I only skimmed your blog, so my mistake, I realize now that you weren't strictly advocating against eBooks entirely.

Having said that, I still don't believe there's a reason to specifically target eBooks that try to scam you. Sure, there are a lot more scam eBooks than tangible ones, but, again, that's only because they are easier to produce and spread around.

eBooks are alright at least for me. They're easier to store and mostly cheaper than the hard copies. I have a Pandigital Novel so it works out pretty well 🙂

Maybe because I am older i still rather read a real book then a ebook
Yes I have seen many people with ebooks but they have never interested me
But as I said that could be because of my age 😀

I'm actually getting to ebooks now with so many great e readers out there with bug screens it is just so easy to have a ebook instead so when you have a bath or if your out sitting some where you can just get your e reader out
