On the movie Boogie Nights, Dirk, the main star, become very egotistic toward the end. He can't stand the director bringing in a new face - with as much/more talent. Anyway, on another movie, Whiplash, the up and coming drummer is tested by his sadistic instructor - often sidelined by replacements.

Anyway, can you stand other talent coming in - or does that pose a problem? How do you deal with it? Have you ever gotten to the point where you simply become - very immature about the situation? Do you feel like perhaps your laziness or other issues lead to being replaced?

High ego is very bad in every areas of life. I do not like to work with people who has ego issues as they makes you looks like you are not doing enough or you're not up to their standard at work. They use any opportunity to insults or embarrass you.

There's a lot of movies and shows where the Antagonist is so egotistical and overly ambitious that it becomes a problem for them later on in the plot. I think egotism can be very blinding for those sitting on a high horse. I've known a few people that are very cocky, sanctimonious, and condescending. I do believe that it can turn a person toxic. It gets old and they're not fun to be around. I think there is a thing such as positive egotism where someone's high self esteem can make them fun to be around.
