So The Elder Scrolls Online is now officially released. I've been playing Beta and Early Access and I simply love this game. It's one of a kind in the way they've done leveling and quests, and the crafting system is the best I've seen since Star Wars Galaxies.
Does anyone else play, and if so, what's your names? We should play together! 🙂
It's like 15 bucks a month, not worth it to pay $180 a year to play a dumbed-down version of Skyrim that happens to be multiplayer.
Don't get me wrong, I played the Beta/Early Access and the game is awesome, but I myself wouldn't pay more than $5 a month for it in addition to the $60 for the game.
Non-MMO players are always freaked out by the monthly subscription cost. However, people like myself who play MMOs all of the time see it as just another cost of gaming.
To me, it's worth it because of the constant updates. For instance: Zenimax has already announced it's 1.0 patch which adds a whole new area, new levels, new gear, etc. That's something you would have to pay for DLC. In addition, you get an environment with free customer service who can actually fix your gameplay and the warmth of a community that has had me rolling on the ground in tears countless times.
To me, it's worth it. And after playing the first month, I have no intention on unsubscribing anytime soon!
Whilst I am a huge supporter of the Elder Scrolls series and had high expectations for this, I don't plan to actually get and play the MMO. I feel it would be another WoW where I play it for a day than never pick it up again.
I honestly do not like the looks of this. The 60 dollars in addition to monthly subscriptions fees is not something that should be in console gaming. The game play itself does not impress me the way Skyrim did. Check out this YouTube review I found that covers the negatives.
Well I play this game with 3 awesome friends. I can say this game is very fun. The crafting system is much better and more improved over the Skyrim crafting system. The combat is different though but it isn't that bad. So far even though I am paying $15 a month it is worth the money. There is a ton of content and you'll pretty much never run out of things to do for a long time. If you like taking your time and enjoy exploring this game is for you then. It is also challenging as well.
