I don't mind them animated as long as they aren't too animated like a rolf emoticon where it actually rolls on the floor but like the animated ones here like the roll eyes, crying one and the lol one all look good and haven't had the animation overdone on them.

If all the emoticons are still they don't look as good but when you see the occasional bit of movement when seeing the smilies box i think it does look really good and exciting.

I like the ones with minimal animation, the ones with a lot of them tend to distract from the topic at hand

I think a few animated emoticons are nice, but I don't think it's necessary.

I don't care too much, but I prefer emoticons with little or no animation, otherwise they can be very distracting.
