I was furious when I seen this squad. I cannot believe Phil Jagielka is missing as he has arguably been the best English centre back in the last couple of games, he has been amazing for Everton better than Lescott who surprisingly is in the squad. I am also puzzled to why Curtis Davies and that young defender is in it with not even any Premier League experience never mind international. It just shows Capello isn't even noticing the players who actually deserve a call up. Robert Green is another play who gets overlooked, Scott Carson can concede two easy goals and Paul Robinson can concede a goal by punching it onto another player and still get a call up but Rob Green plays well and doesn't get a mention.

There are lots of players Capello has overlooked, this squad just frustrated me. -evil-

I was annoyed aswell.
I am everton fan so i say Jag & Lescott should be called up.
Mancienne should no way be called up.

I'm not sure where you're getting your squad list from ~confuse~

Firstly, Robinson isn't on the squad - Joe Hart is and Secondly Jimmy Bullard & Scott Parker aren't in the squad at all.

Besides it's not all about ability. My guess is Capello wants players who have the right mentality. For example when we played Croatia recently everyone was expecting a whitewash, although we came home with a 4-1 win under our belts. I really doubt that was because we were the more talented side, because let's face it..any other day of the week Croatia would have walked all over us.

Official England vs Germany squad: http://www.thefa.com/England/SeniorTeam ... review.htm

Christian you have made the mistake, Joe Hart got injured the other day and Lampard and Gerrard have had to pull out. Which is why Robinson, Bullard and Parker are in.

Also if the squad is about mentality then why is Curtis Davies and Michael Mancienne in it then?

Jagielka has great mentality and has been one of the best defenders in the league this year.

Walcott has now been withdrawn.

As it's a friendly it's a chance to experiment 🙂

1st half XI

Robinson
Richards Upson Terry Bridge
SWP Barry Carrick Downing
Defoe Crouch

2nd half XI
Carson
Johnson Davies Mancienne Lescott
Young Bullard Parker Barry
Agbonlahor Bent

And i suggest complaining to the england board rather than on FP efc 😉

Hmm, if I had to pick from england and germany..... I say go England! -8)-

England are so going to loose, As, well, Its england -angry-

England are actually a very good team, it's just our reputation was shot whilst we were lead my Mclaren. We beat Croatia 4-1 lately, Khazakstan 5-1 and Belarus 3-1, not to mention the 2-2 draw against the Czech repulic earlier in the ear when we should have won.

I think we stand a fighting chance tonight, as the team is full of spirit and confidence after the last few games. ~cheesey_grin~

I just don't want to see Carson or Robinson mess up like they did before.

I think calling up Mancienne & Agbonlahor was a very good move as they both have considerable talent, and since it's a friendly why not.

Well Sbfc93, for one there is no such thing as the England 'board' and if there was they wouldn't pick the squad the manager does. Also I am posting a post to discuss something to tell what I think. -~-

Also you are not allowed to sub 11 players no more, that rule was introduced when Sven done it.

The starting team should look like this:

James
Johnson Ferdinand Lescott Bridge
SWP Carrick Barry Young
Crouch Defoe

I agree with you except James and Ferdinand isn't even in the squad you posted.

And woops -redface- -redface- -redface-

I agree with Efc2008, James is a brilliant keeper, just fumbles under pressure sometimes.

Wouldn't you if you were playing in front of 60-80,000 fans and over 7 million people watching your every move on tv? ~wink~

I'm not saying he's a bad keeper, I'd just rather see Robinson/ Carson in goal as it is a friendly and they could get a chance to prove themselves.

Which is what I was trying to say earlier, about chances, but you stupidly said stop moaning. -lol-

People have to earn chances and I feel non of these two keepers have been good recently, if one of them was to start I would like to see Robinson.
