Goalkeepers: David James (Portsmouth), Robert Green (West Ham United), Ben Foster (Manchester United)
Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Joleon Lescott (Everton), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), John Terry (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Matthew Upson (West Ham United), Ledley King (Tottenham Hotspur).
Midfielders: Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), David Beckham (AC Milan), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Manchester City), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham Hotspur), Steven Gerrad (Liverpool).
Forwards: Carlton Cole (West Ham United), Peter Crouch (Portsmouth), Emile Heskey (Aston Villa), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United).

Why Downing in front of Young? When will Capello realise Downing is dogshite?

Also Heskey is dogshite, all he can do is win headers. Lennon definitely deserves his call up, been class for Spurs recently. King is a quality CB but obviously he has his injury problems. I also think Baines deserves his call-up, decent left back who can cross and take set pieces as evident on saturday.

I would play

Foster
Johnson Ferdinand Terry Cole
Lennon Carrick Gerrard SWP
Cole Rooney

No doubt David James will start, it's great to see Foster get a recall. On the other hand, shame to see Hart dropped ~sad~

Very strong midfield too. It's nice to see Crouch get a recall as he's finally scoring goals again. With Beckham's supreme crossing ability and Crouch's height...along with Wright Philip's ability to run at defenders and support by Rooney we've got more than enough attacking options. The back 4 are solid, so overall a pretty decent squad.

My starting 11 would be:

James (Foster for Second Half)
Johnson, Jagielka, Terry, Lescott
Beckham (Lennon for Second Half), Wright-Philips, Carrick, Downing
Crouch, Rooney

Too bad Joe Cole's injured...he's a perfect LMF for England ~frown~

SWP in the centre of midfield? :S

You say about SWP's ability to run at defenders, Lennon can run at defenders far more effectively then SWP. Final delivery might not always be there but he has blistering pace and can beat any LB IMO.

We are still crap no matter who we have in the squad, I agree about Baines, he deserves to be in to be honest. I really don't like Crouch, I just think he is a clumsy lanky sod.

How are we crap? The Capello regime is going nicely.

As above...

(Just before Capello) 1-1 Draw against Brazil (we really should have won)
2-2 Draw against Czech Republic
4-1 Win over Croatia
5-1 Win over Khazakstan
3-1 Win over Belarus
2-1 Win over Germany

In that order. We're top of our World Cup qualifying group having won all three qualifiers. If anything as Sbfc said we're looking quite the opposite of crap ~wink~

By the way on Wednesday night when you're all watching the Ukraine Qualifier...look out for me in G stand. I'll be near the pitch ~cheesey_grin~

We can't miss you -lol- 😛

Delighted with the three Everton defenders in the squad, it just goes to show how good our defence has been this year.

I would love to see the back four be Johnson Jagielka Lescott and Baines but it won't happen.

Going from our previous results and performance, these qualifiers we are playing incredibly well, mostly. Let's just hope it continues.
