England v San Marino

It should be a comfortable win for England because alot of their players are part timers and they didn't win a single game in the whole of their EURO 2012 qualifying games.

Infact, they lost all 10 games they played and conceded 53 goals, the worst of their defeats came to The Netherlands when they lost 11-0.

I am really looking forward to this game and I can sort of see why Roy has gone for Welbeck up front, I don't think he has scored in 14 games, or something like that? It should be the perfect game for him to get that form going good while we are in the qualifiers. 🙂

Poland wont be as easy, 22_22 think you used to be on my old board, Football Focus, was awhile back now..

Nope, it won't be anywhere near that easy against Poland. They are a good side, especially with the Dortmund links down the right hand side aswell as Lewandowski up front so they have the experience of playing with each other, week in and week out so they should provide a threat down that side providing they are fully fit and playing in the game.

I think Walcott will be missing that game with a chest injury which he picked up in the game against San Marino, a horrendous tackle from the goalkeeper to be exact and it did look quite painful, that seem to slow the game down too but they picked up the pace later on.

It was interesting seeing Lennon play for the first time in what, 19 months or so I heard? A like for like switch with Walcott is what Roy went with and I guess he got a call up for his goal gainst Aston Villa but we don't need to go into detail about that. 😛

I dont get the Rooney captain thing, im not a lover of having strikers as captains, plus he isnt a leader by no means. I think England will bottle it personally come Tuesday night...

I've always thought having the leader (captain) is best at the back, centre-back to be precise but with Ferdinand and Terry out of the question right now I'm sure Roy would rather give the captain's arm band to someone else and Rooney up front will probably spring to mind since he is the most experienced player right now.

I'm absolutely agree with you . I don't think Rooney is the best candidate for captain .
I want to see in England captain position John Terry or Gerrard .

John Terry would have been a good shout but he retired from International Football a few months ago now, must have been all the media business with him and Ferdinand. Best to leave both of them out of the team anyway.

Gerrard is 32 now and you have to look at the future ahead IMO, he is our current captain which is great for now but we need to look for our future captain. He probably only has another few International team years ahead of him.
