Some people enjoy getting compliments and some people feel embarrassed by them. Which are you? What are some compliments you get a lot? Are there times when you get compliments and don’t believe them? Explain.

Not embarrassed at all. Ppl ask me all the time if I'm a Victoria Secret model. I just laugh and move on. Of course, you can alway tell when someone is trying to butter you up thinking flattery will get them places lol.. But for me, there has to be an element of truth to the compliment in order for it to be effective.

Sounds like a good thing then. 😀

I mainly get compliments from my girlfriend and family members. Compliments boost my self esteem and it makes me feel better. Often I don't feel embarrassed. However, compliments from strangers is a rarity.

I like to be complement by people because I do not see it a embarrassment.

Not very often I do get compliments, and when I do I just feel wired and say "Ohhhh Please" and move on. Most people that I think that is worth a good compliment, they are too embarrassed to say and do, since they failed to do it whatever it was that has been done.

I get embarrassed by compliments because oftentimes they are unexpected. I am pleased when employers compliment me because it validates my skills but I still blush!

I've learned to take compliments. Here's a little piece of advice that may help people in taking compliments. Think of the OTHER person! An example- My husband would say I was pretty & I'd respond with No I'm not. One day he told me that it hurt him 'cos w/ my "No I'm not" it's telling him that his opinion, his belief, his WORDS are worthless. That they don't count. I took a literal step back. When we DON'T take compliments, it hurts that other person.
Flipside, I like to give compliments to people out of the blue. Sometimes it's the only nice thing they may have heard all day.
