Any EuroLeague fans on the forum? EuroLeague is the top club basketball competition in Europe and the second strongest basketball league in the world behind the NBA. For those who are following football (soccer) it can be compared to UEFA Champions League. Though the qualification and format is completely different.

Starting from this season EuroLeague became a semi-closed league (most of participating clubs have guaranteed 10-year contracts with the league). The number of participating teams was reduced to 16 from 24. The format was also simplified. Now each team plays each other twice (home and away) in regular season with top 8 teams qualifying for play-offs. The top 4 teams then make it to the Final Four where the champion is decided. This season's final four will be hosted in Istanbul, Turkey.

The list of participating teams:
Anadolu Efes (Turkey)
Baskonia (Spain)
Brose Bamberg (Germany)
Crvena zvezda (Serbia)
CSKA Moscow (Russia)
Darüşşafaka Doğuş (Turkey)
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan (Italy)
FC Barcelona (Spain)
Fenerbahçe (Turkey)
Galatasaray (Turkey)
Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel)
Olympiacos (Greece)
Panathinaikos (Greece)
Real Madrid (Spain)
UNICS Kazan (Russia)
Žalgiris (Lithuania)

I went to a Crvena Zvezda game (Red Star) against CSK Moscow last year and it was absolute madness. I knew some guys who played there as I am a former player as well (Not from Red Star tho), so it was fun watching them.

I didn't even know they played basketball over there. I thought it was more of an american thing.
