Ever been banned for no real reason?

Hey,

In this topic you may share your stories - expieriences about getting banned on a forum(s) that you feel where not justified.

Of course an admin or mod has the final verdict and chooses when to ban. But that doesn't make it a correct ban for a good reason.

This isn't the topic to flame a forum or give a certain person a bad name.

Just share your story of why you think you got banned and why it wasn't right without mentioning which board you got banned on.

I'll start:

Not even a link and yet I get banned when checking if I got any reply for that PM. :shrug:

Probably due my numbers in my name they think I'm a spam bot. °_°

Third time which was just yesterday I signed up on a forum under "Max Pen". I got banned for Pm'ing a moderator asking if the person wanted to get interviewed.

I did this cause the owner didn't want to get interviewed so I just go down 1 level and ask a mod.

Next thing I know I'm banned for spamming. 😱

What is the reason in that? I don't know by who I got banned, by the owner or by the mod but still is a simple reply with "no thank you" to hard??

I just sent 1 PM to the owner and 1 PM to the mod, so two Pm's are spamming?

I got banned plenty of times just cause the Moderators and Admins thought it was funny.

A moderator on another forum obtained my IP through their moderator privileges, and then used that to IP ban me on their own forum, because I "leaked" information which could be viewed by anyone in the world - I think they stuffed up their own permissions settings and blamed me for whatever reason. I wasn't even a member on their forum - just a normal visitor!

Technically, it wasn't even leaking because any visitor could view this information. After asking how they got my IP and why I was banned, they just acted dumb and said they didn't know why (obviously complete BS).

Oh well, their forum eventually closed. Good riddance.

I was banned once on a forum for having a link in my sig, when in fact the rules never said you couldn't. I tried reasoning with the moderator who banned me, but it didn't work out very well.

Another time, I was banned for putting another forum's affiliate on my forum.
They asked me to take it down because I didn't ask for permission to add it to my forum, even though the only reason why I added it was because I really liked the forum and I wanted to help it get members.
But apparently I was stealing their "advertising rights".

So, when the admin came on my forum and asked me to take it down. I asked them why they wanted it down. They didn't tell me why, but just told me to take it down; I kept asking why because I just wanted to know the reason. So instead of telling me why they wanted it down, they banned me on their forum and then I took it down because they banned me.
There was even a point where they said they would take legal action; I was a 16 year old that didn't know much and they were ready to sue me for something that I find was silly to even get mad over.

It was all so ridiculous, I think.

I have yet to be banned that I know of, there is a good chance though because I technically yeah at one of their staff last night because I got tired of repeating the same thing over and over again. I haven't been brave enough to venture on that board yet today.

I have never been banned in my online life so far. I guess I am that good of a member, bwahaha~ XDD

Anyways, we will often find strange management style, even to the point of banning us without proper reasons. Shame to hear that, but I believe such sites won't be able to last long. Much better for us to move on and find another place to enjoy ourselves.

I was permabanned at iFans with 7,600 posts because the admin didn't like me, or any of my five friends who also were banned. 😡

I've been banned from a forums for no reason, According to the guy who banned me his justified it by "Being too stupid".

I was banned on a Nintendo forum for being too young. Seriously? Most nintendo games are played by kids anyways.

I got banned for adding a signature to a forum of mine which was seen as a competitive forum. I read nothing in their ToS that said anything about adding a link to a "competitive" site (My forum was just starting at the time).
