Has someone ever stunk so bad that you called them out for not bathing?

Why or why not?

I wish I had the guts!! When I go to the grocery store (I go early in the morning), there are too many people who haven't bathed, and I have to hold my breath as I pass them by. An older couple is there often at the same time and I hurry to get into other aisles fast and then there are the people filling the online shopping orders, mostly younger people.

I’ll only say something if it’s someone I know and am close to. I am too anxious to tell a stranger. 🤣

Mate, did you skip the shower today or are you testing a new natural fragrance?

I have not yet, but if they truly do stink, I will in the most gentle way let them know they need to clean up.

Had some acquaintances I was close enough to that I knew an off hand comment wouldn't outright insult them. The oddball comment every now and then did get some of them to remember that they were out in public to get them to shower before going out. Though one guy I knew, had a terrible habit of both not showering consistently, and not washing his clothes period, so even if he admitted to showering, he still stunk to high heavens.

I have a few times in my life. It's so disgusting.

I thought of this thread while shopping at the grocery store this morning. I can't tell you how many people do not shower. Holding my breath through most of the store so I don't vomit has got to be an Olympic event.

I've been called out twice for being stinky in my lifetime, I believe. Once in a car with an old friend, he said I smell like BO because I didn't put enough deodorant on. Another time was a random lady inside Walmart where I used to work; she said something along the lines of "someone forgot to bathe", when it was actually a foolish mistake on my behalf. For a short time, I used my dirty-clothes box to transport my clean clothes, which made them smell. Now I fold all my laundry in the laundry room and bring it to my room afterward.

I don't believe I've ever personally called out someone for being stinky.

There's been at least 3 occasions where had to run to another aisle, so I could relieve my gag reflex.

Because it's so bad with some people.
Not counting the time where I was in a video store holding my breath because this family smelled rotten.

I have read studies that show that bathing daily is mostly performative. Most people only need to bathe two to three times per week.

Don't @ me.

I have never experienced a thing like this. But if I had encountered one I would rather whisper to the person thsb embarrassing the person.
