So, as the title asks, as a forum admin, have you ever gotten burnt out? I ask because I think I am at that point- where I want my communities to do well, and try my best to keep them going. As of late, I have just felt uninspired, drained, and lifeless when it comes to my two forums.

Thankfully, my first one, which is 3 years old, is pretty much on cruise control. I can not log in for several days, and not have to worry- everyone is still there, still posting, and enjoying each other's company. The other, newer forum, though, is still in infancy mode, and requires me to be there constantly.

However, I am at this point where I am just feeling burnt out. So, I put it to you, fellow admins... Have you ever felt like this? If so, did you get over it, and how?

Yep.. I was overly burned out and majorly stressed because of real life problems.. Then even more real life crap happened which lead to me closing my forums.

Then a couple months later after things settled down a bit, I came back with a new forum... A break is just what I needed.

The best way to avoid burn out and to deal with it, if it happens to you, is to take plenty of breaks and get some rest. Working too hard without a break can demotivate you and result in burn out.

Setting achievable, short terms goals can also help greatly.
