I've recently noticed that the quality of my posting has improved.
When I was first using forums, I usually made one line posts(occasionally 3 three line posts) and rarely did I make giant posts/walls-of-text.
Nowadays, I tend to make longer, more descriptive posts. Mostly, because I want to establish myself as a quality member on some forums.
Has your posting style/quality ever improved over time?
I think this applies to everyone really. My first posts on the first forum I was a real member of where full of grammar errors that if you would read them you would think I'm an idiot that needs to learn proper English.
A lot of foreigners can't speak English when they first start going on English-speaking forums. One of my friends accidentally claimed someone else's art because of such a thing... XD
Yeah that happens to most. As we grow up, get more practice of the English language we improve and we start to write more grammatically correct and our posts are of a higher standard. However when adults start using forums for the first time sometimes they can be quite professional and have high quality posts but as they get used to forums and start to be more part of the community there post quality might decrease.
I've started posting in 2002, so I had a lot of time to 'grow'. I do think that meaningful posts are BETTER, since you do offer something back to the community and entice people to take a look at 'you' and what you promote/stand for.
My posting quality on forums has slightly increased over the years, but I still tend to leave shorter replies to posts rather than extremely lengthy posts.
My post quality hasn't improved too much, simply because I always had a tendency to make longer, more meaningful posts and I'm kept the same tendency even now. But I guess it depends on the topic.
