Have you ever seen those people that just have to reply to almost every topic no matter what it is? Just to get their post count up. Whats the point? What is there to prove?

No I was just making conversation. Do you have a guilty conscience?

No I was just wondering, since I have been told before. But I don't mean to say I guess sorry if I do it?

Don't know but it can get quite annoying, half the time they don't even have anythingl constructive to add to the conversation but post in it anyway just to get their post count up.

If they reply with a decent reply then I don't get bothered but as Mr.Bond said if it is not constructive and it is just to get their post count up then it can be annoying.

I agree, i am not bothered by it if the reply is decent enough. But if its mostly, lol's or i agree, or stupid shit. Then it gets annoying.

I guess this really depends on the size of your forum. If you've got a newly established forum, i'd say an excessive poster is the best thing to have. They help you get off the ground, build your forum's post count quickly and before long you start getting more active members.

On the other hand, it does get extremely annoying once you're already set up. When i ran Power-Ads (the version with about 4000 posts) i had one member who would reply to everything. A user would request an affiliate with another user, and my esteemed poster would reply with "congratulations on affiliating with eachother" - in almost every topic.

I don't get it, like Travis said - a high post count doesn't get you anywhere, and members will become aware of their spam before their high post count. ~mad~

I don't really mind them, but if it goes too far, I'll become a bit agitated.
But I do encourage posting on my forum, so I'd expect a bit of this.

Yeah a bit is fine. If you are running a general chat forum (which I do) then I could care less. Its not big deal. But if you are running a service forum (like graphics or advertising) then its best to keep the spam out.

Or going into the banner request forum and wishing someone else goodluck on their request being filled.

yeah exactly ~lol~

Do you remember that Mr. Infuzion, fella? ~lol~

That's because i put a javascript on the index page to redirect to power-ads.org (my lunarpages hosting).

If you disable js on your browser then you should be able to navigate around the whole lot and see some of the tripe that we posted ~lol~

Or use the drop-down menu at the footer to navigate to to other forums. ~cheesey_grin~

The guy even replied to my ad topic, saying basically what Christian said. ~lol~
I miss BP...

haha sometimes I'll go on posting sprees 😛 usually it's mostly because I type exceedingly fast, and I use multiple tabs so there's always something to reply to 🙂
