If I were to, that would be because they are active and contribute, and know the rules. No dramas there.

All of the staff members I've ever had on Combiboland have been promoted from being regular users. I've had some good experiences, and I've had some bad ones. You just have to really be sure to get to know someone before you give them that kind of access to your forum.

I'm agree, it's better to know people before giving mod ranks. Usually the best way is to look for experienced mods from other communities, or give the rank to people from your community that really deserve it.

I've never hired any staff member at all, when I used to run my big forum before (430,000 posts and 170 users signing in each day), I ran it all by myself because I didn't trust anybody at that time.
