This is the unofficial (hopefully an admin makes it official XD) topic about extreme advertising. You say what the most extreme advertising you've done for your forum would be, and people can comment on it. You can also say what the most extreme ad you've seen would be.

I'll use my cases as examples.

Nuke: "I painted the forum URL during an assignment in art class and such."
NuclearWarlord: "That's awesome, but I advertised in an essay."

I can't come up with any more extreme ads than I've done, in the past, so I'll use this.

Rob (isn't a mem at FP): I saw a guy advertising by holding a sign advertising his forum like some companies do, once!

I haven't done anything more major than joining up with promotion forums and advertising my site there. That's about the only thing I've ever done. That and submitting to search engines in the past. That's it, basically.

I would write my forum's name all over the desks in school.
I also supported any sites I was staff on by writing the name everywhere in permanent marker and then the description.

Waushare "Sharing is caring..."
Music, software, movies, etc FREE!

Stuff like that lol.
I know a kid who spray painted his forum's name under a bridge and like 4 or 5 members said they saw it spray painted in the "how did you find us" thread.

LOL, I would have laughed really hard if I saw someone saying that in a thread on my forum. It would definetly get me wondering that's for sure. I would have definetly found it funny if someone had said, "oh yeah, I saw this site when someone scribbled the name and url on a desk at school". Yeah, that would have me wondering, that's for sure.

I lol'd at Sshare. I almost got 2 mem by painting my forum's name and URL into a thing at art class XD

Although it may seem humorous to some, advertising outside of the Internet can actually attract members. The only downside is that they will come in extremely low numbers, hence the fact that people in real life will have to memorize a URL, and type it in on a computer.

I think that online advertising the best way to go.😀

Like someone above said, I havent dne much to premote my forum, But once Runestyle told me about this site, I knew it was perfect and that I would stay active because I like making forums and having a lot of members, but I havent really had alot.

I've never done this but I did notice someone on the old AH that did.

I actually considered making T-Shirts and going to a Nintendo event to advertise.

Never got around to it though. 😛

A friend of mine advertised in real life and shortly after got a few dozen spammers with similar IPs to himself.
