EyeOS looks like a good way of doing work or opening files on other people's computer with an internet connection and web browser without the need to carry around a flash drive, or use remote desktop to login to your computer at home to access your files and programs to do basic tasks like Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Power Point Slide shows.

All you have to do is login to your EyeOS server which you can install on your website by downloading the install directory from http://sourceforge.net/projects/eyeos/ , uploading the install directory, and installing it like most other CMS like WordPress.

It is cool that EyeOS is mostly written in PHP and XML.

You can try it out at http://try.eyeos.org/

Isn't that ios spelled out the way it sounds?

I don't understand this though.

You're right. I did not see that their name is similar to iOS from Apple.

I wonder if Apple will ask them to change their name since Apple now has a web browser based operating system as well called iCloud which is also a web app which runs on Apple's server rather then you installing the CMS to manage your data, and files.

I think this is like a private website like gmail, yahoo mail which you need to login to view your stuff, but you open files/pages by clicking on icons and folders rather then links like in Gmail, and you can move and resize the icons and windows around on your personal web based desktop to your liking.
