Has anyone here used Facebook Ads to promote their site?

I have, I ended up spending $30 in 2 days and didn't get much of the turnout I was hoping for. Honestly, you get more turnout if you spread using word of mouth.

I tried both, I got very few clicks and no members out of it.

No, but If I had money... I would definitely give it a shot!

I try it, Really great and gives us great traffic.

I tried it as well... You need to obviously spend hundreds or thousands OF $ before even considering to get users to your forums. I tried with 5$ got 30,000 impressions and 10clicks, not one user even clicked on the register page the whole time. I have a feeling they were mostly bots.

I think word of mouth and telling friends / handing out business cards in real life is the best way..... But this is just advice fellas, you can do w/e the heck you wanna do!!

Same as above, Facebook is for big time spenders or there no point, its full of bots that follow links so will make you pay for them too :/
