Facebook Marketing Discussion

It could work if you already have a huge list of friends on Facebook which are into the same topics as your website, but it can be difficult when starting a new Facebook account with no friends.

If your content is good, people will share it with their Friends on Facebook.

Facebook has been moderately successful for me for some of my websites, but I think because I posted a few blog posts about Facebook on upgrading a old computer to make Facebook faster, and Rockmelt which is a Facebook/social network web browser, so my best guest is some members on Facebook found my blog somehow, and liked my posts.

I feel you have little idea what SEO is and hardly any outside source will help your SEO (to the extent of me excluding the idea that incoming links = good SEO).

ANyways, Facebook marketing should be used not in terms of Search Engines, but in terms of marketing to millions of potential members / customers. Work with Facebook and market your products correctly for the actual people reading it, not for Search Engines.

The main goal of Facebook marketing is to build a relationship with clients as well as potential customers. With Facebook, you are not targeting keywords, you are targeting people's interests or what your 'fans' will like, which can start a whole lot of interaction – the 'liked' post appearing on other user's wall, for example – and a wide exposure for your page (and, in effect, brand).

I reckon that Facebook is a good accomplice for your forum. If you can get a page set up and publish to that news about your forum, then this should keep interested people, interested.
