I personally do not use Hot Mail.
If you do, like my friends (they all got hacked because of this), never open or do anything to the following message.

It's Entitled:
"Important HotMail Version Update - Please Update Your Version"

If you open it (which I don't recommend) you'll find this:
From: Admin@Hotmailsystem
To: (Your HotMail)
The following is an update patch for your hotmail. Please click the following link to update:
http://system.hotmail.com/confirm/patch/.../patch.php
Code:
(I left out the ------ part so no one would enter)

Just clicking on the mail can give you 500+ pop up add windows.
If you click on the link, you can get a virus that will slowly break down your computer. It will also HACK your hotmail and make all details public. Sad

If you ever get this mail, mark it as spam or contact the Hotmail Management.

Please note I have no intention of giving you any worry.
I am just alerting you.

Hey shadow, can you give me the real link here? (Or a PM if you feel that it's safer) I wanna see what this really is...

Nothing new tbf, Theres a lot going around. Msn hotmail does display "warnings" when you get an email from an unknown email saying "Open at risk" so if your unsure don't click it.

Also we should know by now that most updates with softwares etc... come from the software it self not through email

Thanks for the warning. There have always been thousands of Hotmail exploits and scripts out there that aim to steal your information.

~The trick is to have a keen eye, don't be stupid and let them take your information. Hotmail will never email you telling you to run, install or download anything.

If you need something extra on your email account for security, don't you think they would do it themselves to every account? 🙂

^ He knows what he is doing.

BTW : I lol at this virus, because right now through cpanel I could send you an email that says from [email protected].
I could also write some short html code to make it look as though it says system.hotmail.com when it really says virus.blabla.net
Lol... 😀

Alright, it's completely your choice. I'm not giving any orders here. 🙂

Actually, it happened to my friends.
Like 12 of them.
I don't use Hotmail.
If I ever did get an email like that, I'd delete it. 🙂

Wait, Is it the link? because it's kinda weird it's a legit hotmail.com address....
