Fallout 4

Without a doubt.

I'm going to be getting it a bit late only because I need to upgrade my GPU but I will be getting it soooon.

One of the few games I'm willing to pay the full retail price right upon release, all the other games I wait a year or two for the price to drop.

I'm hugely excited for this xD Hopefully I'll be able to play it soon after launch.

I think who ever is playing this game wont come out for another 10-15 days 😀 They are all in the Fallout world now 🙂

My girlfriend told me she's buying it for me for our anniversary. So unfortunately I don't get to play it until the 20th 🙁

I've sunk a few hours into the game (ok... 18 is more than a few, but whatever) and I'm really enjoying it for the most part. Except for the fact that it seems like I keep getting obliterated by everything.

Run into a pack of Super Mutants... Kill one. Then get hit by a missile from the one carrying a launcher and die. Respawn and run the other way? Surprise... 3 more Super Mutants and one with a launcher. Respawn again and run into Raider with power armour and a Fatman/Mini-nuke launcher. (I eventually killed that raider though... after he wasted me with his Fatman twice.)

I'm curious whether I just spec'd wrong or whether I need to just go find combat armour (I have a BoS chestpiece already...)

Also, I'm not overly fond of the fact that increased rads cuts into the HP bar as quickly as it does. I find that really annoying. I'd much prefer if they went with the Fallout 3 style of rads where it just reduced endurance, agility and strength. (Since it seems like every 100 rads takes 10% of your health.)

But the ability to modify weapons is really nice. I like being able to stick a bayonet onto my shotgun for when a ghoul gets close and my magazine is empty... Means I might still be able to finish them off without having to try running and reloading (all the while they're keeping pace and chewing my ankles off).

Thanks for this 🙂

I will be posting my thoughts as soon as I get the game.

Is this actually worth my money? I have a high end Gaming PC but games are really expensive these days and i dont want to spend for a bad game.

Just for some context, I should mention that my Endurance stat is 6 (so not exactly low but not overly high either). I'm at level 17 and my health is ~180. I've got a Brotherhood of Steel combat armour chestpiece (15DR) and the limbs are studded leather (offhand +4DR per piece) with an assault gas mask (1DR). I have a minutemen base layer (0DR). I have +10DR from the toughness perk. (So a DR of about 42.)

So I'm not super weak in that regard, but I still seem to die fairly quickly and easily. I haven't found much in the way of better armour. (Last I checked raider armour is pretty crap since it doesn't provide any better defence and it looks like crap to boot.)

As for whether or not the game is good? Yes, it is. I'd recommend picking it up even at full price. (Though you may be able to get a discount from joining and buying with Greenmangaming... I was able to save 20% doing that way. But I also bought it 2 days before release.) Especially on PC since you know that the mod community is going to have a field day with it. (They're already starting to release stuff... increased texture packs and more.)
I'm just waiting for them to release an Iron Man / Rescue armour mod. It's going to happen... I know it is. It's just too obvious for them not to do it.

(I also hope they add a mod to revert to Fallout 3 styled radiation.)

Still haven't gotten to play this as I injured my hand last week. Hoping to start this weekend 🙂
