fan forums???

I own a fan forym for an american idol contestant. Does anyone else own a fan forum. Anyone think fan forums are hard to get new members with? I love mine

I own a fan forum for Toy Story. I also had a fan forum for the movie Cloverfield that was very active (500,000+ posts)

I have never run a fan forum, I think I would really struggle to get it active anyway.

Well truthfully, how many members have you got from advertising on here except for post exchanges/posting packages?

Also if there is an American Idol forum you should join and put a link/signature linking to your site in your sig. :great:

I haven't gotten most of my members from here. Most of the people who joined are actually Allison Iraheta fans.

I was once a member of a fan forum for Zelda, but after awhile, you run out of things to talk about. It may have just been the board; I'm sure other people are more successful.

Fan forums do really well so long as you're the first to start one up and market it properly. Reason being there's always going to be a huge target audience with the same common interest, so as long as you're the first to offer a facility for fans to meet up and discuss their favourite TV show, film, whatever...it should take off.

...like I said though, that's assuming it's done properly. A unique skin, advanced hosting, domain name and maybe paid advertising is the way to go if you're deadly serious about starting up a popular fan site. Free host + no domain + skin 1000's of other forums are using is likely to leave you with high expectations, and low statistics.

I ran a fan forum about Murder He Wrote about how good he is @ graphics/web design.

Then it well kinda blew up because it was too cool for the internet.

Then I moved onto Efc well that didn't go well because he said he was too cool so he hit me with using (C) with his name and he sued me..

Ooh well guess It wasn't meant to be.
