Any of y'all seen Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Zero, or Unlimited Blade Works? ๐Ÿ˜€ Currently watching these. AWESOME anime! ๐Ÿ˜€

Basically follows the story of two Holy Grail Wars, which are free-for-all battles between ancient heroes from European Folklore, who have been brought back to fight alongside modern-day mages for possession of the ultimate wish-granting device: the Holy Grail.

The order of publication is: Fate/Stay Night (#1), Fate/Zero (#2), and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (#3, the 2014 anime, not the earlier movie). F/SN is regarded generally as being nowhere near as good as F/Z and UBW, although its material is useful to know when watching the other anime.

I started with Fate/Zero back when it aired and then followed by Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works earlier this year. I loved watching both (UBW in particular had amazing visuals) and while I do remember checking out Fate/stay night many years ago, it didn't really strike me as good. I'm considering picking it up again to finally put it to rest. I might be a little forgiving this time since I did enjoy both F/Z and UBW.

I might be a bit biased since I always preferred Rin over Saber even way back in 2006, but yeah... I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions in UBW.

Now I'm eagerly waiting for Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel.

Lmao, Rin is such a tsun. ๐Ÿ˜› But I also prefer her over Saber. Saber is cute and everything else but if Shirou had dated her it felt like he dated an obaachan/grandma! XD And Rin is much better than the noisy Sakura. So yes, yes, Rin all the way. I actually think she looks amazing while casting magic. Thanks Ufotable for the crazy visual for UBW.

Can't wait for Heaven's Feel as well! Said to be the best plot line.

I thought the original F/SN was pretty good myself. Did you remember many of the concepts from F/SN when you watched F/Z? Wondering whether to recommend people to start with F/Z or not, as it doesn't do a good job of introducing the concepts.

HOW CAN YOU GUYS NOT LIKE SABERRR ๐Ÿ™

Also, Shirou and Saybah did go on a date in F/SN ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway: I don't think I've ever really liked an anime based movie except for Spirited Away, but I might actually like HF. I bet it'll be awesome. ๐Ÿ˜€ Hope they can fit all the material in, assuming it's as much as UBW and FSN.

I can't remember. But I'd say go with F/Z and when confused search for Wikia or something. Better than sitting through hell of first F/sn, lol. ๐Ÿ˜›

I see you are a big Fate Fan, UBW was actually really good. Good fights and storytelling and character build-up, irrespective of the fact that it was already aired before and this was a remake.

So for the fanbois here is a new Fate project. We are going to get a new fate series etc.

Enjoy @Penguinn

UBW wasn't really a remake. F/SN, UBW, and HF were all different "routes" that could be taken in a Visual Novel (decision-based game), each with its own ending. The first halves of both are pretty similar, but the latter halves diverge to a different ending, revealing different details, etc. Both animes have different themes and focus on different characters.

It's pretty much this. I wasn't overly confused watching Fate/Zero. I've read certain facts about the entire franchise throughout the years so that might have actually helped me consume most of the things the show threw at me, but I can say that visiting the wikia afterwards cleared up a lot of my doubts. It's an option only for those who are willing. I only faced my questions with the series in this manner because I wasn't able to tolerate F/sn that supposedly acts as a guide to get you through the other routes like F/Z and UBW. In my experience, I think watching F/sn first can help but is in no way mandatory.

Also, for those who are thinking of doing exactly this make sure to tread carefully as the wikia page is brimmed with spoilers.
