I wanted to try it out so i uploaded it and it said the upload was successful but its not showing.

Does the favicon show for anyone else?

Are you sure you have your favicon as a .ico file ?

Your favicon needs to be a compatible icon file ( .ico ), or it may not display correctly.

It doesn't have to be, but it is preferred
