Favicons

What are favorite icons? A member on my forum asked us to set one but I felt stupid because I don't know what it is... I know I can set it, just what is it?

Let's use Forum Promotion as an example. :yes:

Look up in your address bar. To the left of the whole URL there is a small blue square with the letters "FP" on it in white. That's a favicon.

If you need help in creating favicons, you can use this: http://www.favicon.cc/

It's basically a favicon generator which outputs the favicon.ico file.

Which you would then upload to your root directory, and browsers will find it.

BTW, if you haven't noticed, favourite icons = favicons. Just a short version of saying it 😉

Just design a 16x16 image and upload it to your route directory as ''favicon.ico''.

Its like your "favourites" section of the browser, where you can see that small icon beside the link, hence favourites icon.
