Share your favorite music genre here, maybe include an example if you can 🙂

I like garage rock/garage punk

Metal. I've been playing guitar for quite some time so I like stuff is tougher on guitar 😀

Punk and Ska of course!

But i also like reggae, jazz, and classical

Rap.
I wish more people would give it a chance. It's so much better than what people think. It's not all weed, money & sex. Lil Wayne isn't the only rappper out there.

Pop/R&B ^^

-- 21 Mar 2012, 23:55 --

Pop/R&B ^^

Limiting yourself by genre is crippling so I try not to.
Haha. I don't limit myself to a genre but I do have a favorite which is what the post author asked about 😉

Sure, I just can't really consider any genre my favorite when some of my favorite music cannot even be described by any genre, such as the work of John Zorn 😛.

(Real) Hardcore, though ska, punk, and folk metal are close to the top as well.
does that mean you like fallout boy?

Rock.

Artists like Rise Against, Switchfoot and Linkin Park for example.

I actually do, I find them quite a talented band. I wish that Patrick Stump would realize that he could make more money with FOB than doing his own solo project.

But the hardcore I was referring to is stuff like Madball, Terror, Agnostic Front, Cruel Hand, Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, Have Heart, Verse. Modern slander of the term has caused people to use the word hardcore to describe shit like:

Those are some ugly specimens you found there, yikes. Can't imagine how terrible their music must sound.

I guess I'd have to say that Pizzacore is my favorite genre. There are so many amazing bands like Pizza Kids, but Chuck E. Cheese's Chuck E. Cheese's Greatest Hits Volume One is definitely the most defining album in the genre. Totally Serious. Try to listen to this album and not find yourself groovin' along hits like Keep It Groovin', or Homework. Protip: It's impossible. I mean you owe yourself an afternoon of skee-ball to earn the 300 tickets required. Can't wait for Volume 2.
