The irony is that Margaret Thatcher is basically the same person as Ronald Reagan, but Reagan is worshiped as a god in the USA, and Thatcher is generally hated in the UK.

Reagan was probably the worst president in my opinion. I'm not sure about the best; they all made crippling mistakes. I like Roosevelt and Truman for dismantling unregulated capitalism (until Reagan brought it back), Johnson for his civil rights platform, and Clinton for his tax policies. Nixon also had some decent tax policies and social programs, but I can't say I like him for any other reason.
 
The best president is the one coming in to replace the current president. It's like that no matter when you ask.
