Mine use to be Visual Basic 6 many years ago, then it was PHP and now I am drifting away from PHP and to C#.

C# is an awesome language! I like that their syntax is similar to Java, and in some ways their API is better. It's a bit constraining that uit's largely an MS-only language, but oh well.

Python's pretty good. I haven't had a chance to use it much though. It's funny that the question you linked to mentioned FORTRAN, COBOL, and BASIC, though. Those languages are as old as the proverbial hills. 😛

I am a student of Computer Science and Engineering. So, I will need to study multiple programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Ruby and others. But I love C and PHP. I think that C or C++ is the best programming languages for beginners like me. Because, if you will be able to understand the logic of C and C++ than you can learn other programming languages easily 😀
