Favourite Laptop/PC

With a desktop, it's always a good idea to build your own. You can get a better deal and a much more powerful machine. As far as laptops go, I don't think the brand really matters much. The specs are much more important. If I had to choose a brand, though, it would probably be ASUS.

You know what great answer! I had one a while ago but failed to build it up (a gaming PC) thanks for your reply inspires me to make another attempt at it 🙂

If you look at YouTube, there are some very awesome build guides for gaming-oriented PCs that would probably be helpful. 🙂

I owned many laptops over my years but I rather have an built desktop 🙂

I own an Asus Rog G751 for 18 months until the Motherboard had to be replaced and would cost like $800 to repair it

I don't have a fascination as of though, but would always compare the good specification offered by a particular make.

Macbook Pros are where it's at! I have a 2015 MBP with retina display. I like it!

I've recently bought ASUS P2540UA-AB51. And it's amazing. It's not a gaming one, I'm pretty satisfied with my PS4 for games. I've picked my laptop from the top of this list best laptop for writers, but there're alternative solutions.

Dell, which happens to be the make of the laptop I'm using right now. I've got it for a solid seven years now. Still works like new 😀

I recently purchased a 2018 MacBook Pro to use for stuff at home, while using my Dell XPS for work. I'm loving the new MacBooks.

I purchased my latest laptop which is a MSI back in May of 2017, and has been amazing. Previously had an ASUS that was a lemon to me but still lasted for nearly five years. 😛

Completely agree here. Custom-built machines are the way to go.

As for laptops, I am really not a fan of any of the new models. Far too much BGA and solder/glue nonsense. Companies are very fond of anti-consumer practices these days; something that I am personally against.

Years ago, you could buy a junk entry-level laptop with a Celeron, and upgrade it to one of the best Core2 Duos around. A £200 laptop, with the option to stick in a £530 processor. And the best part, is that it would work! You also had access to RAM, storage and the optical drive, and on the absolute best models, even the option to swap out the wireless adapter.

Back then, laptop hardware wasn't low-end junk from the desktop rehashed with a high-end name. A Core2 Duo was a Core2 Duo, and a Celeron was a Celeron. In 2018, you can buy a laptop with a Core i5 that's actually a rebadged Pentium underneath.

Gotta love these tricks. /s

My hubby has a PC but I prefer to use the laptop he bought me. I can sit anywhere in the house with my laptop, unlike his PC. Plus, the laptop is actually mine and I don't have to worry about anyone else using it.
