Feedback for Pantalea

Hello, everyone!

Updating this thread/post, I'm once again ready for opinions and suggestions from members of FP for my site, Pantalea. We were ASH before, but now we have our own domain and a completely new place to live in: Pantalea. Please kindly refrain from criticizing the activity; the forum was hacked a while ago and we had just moved members account back to this domain but did not take any posts at all, so we started from scratch. That's why the activity is rather low. I'll work on it as soon as I can, but for now let's leave that aside.

I think its a great and very friendly place, I can't come on so much because its lagging for me, weak PC you see.^^

Its because of the music that comes on the index automatically.

and I have moved the music playlist to the portal only so when you get into the forum, I believe you won't experience any lagging again. ^^ please do tell if it still happens, though, it might have problems with the forum itself.

For starters, I don't even know the link, so that would make it a little hard to review. Also, some people turn off signatures so they would have no clue.

I assume the name "A singing harmony" corresponds with "chouwa-harmonia" so that's one thing to work on. That's confusing. Your site name has almost no relevance to the domain so that needs some work.

I don't really like the chatbox as it diverts attention from the forum to the chatbox. The Google ad is annoying so guests will probably be turned off. I personally dislike forumotion and their structure so that could go against you.

The design is nice and simple and the gray isn't striking which is good for the eyes. I think you will need to group a few forums together because you barely have any posts and most of them are "games" posts. Having a few forums with seemingly more posts is better than so many forums with the post count stretched amongst them.

Now that the forum seems to be more stable, I think I can revive this thread once again. Feel free to leave what bugs your mind, but I would prefer non-activity-related one, because my forum is not as fast as other sites. Any idea to improve the activity, I would love to hear, though.

I love the overall look of the site as it’s very elegant and almost enchanting in my opinion. I’m also glad that your music player isn’t automatic—especially because I’m looking at this and my husband’s still asleep, I’m sure he wouldn’t be happy to be woken up by random music playing, hehe. I think it was a smart idea to keep it to a minimum amount of forums, it makes it very easy to find things and everything forum has some sort of activity. I’m also happy to see that the general discussion doesn’t actually have most of the posts; I’m impressed by that really. I think you would benefit from getting more posts around the forum, but considering it’s such a specific topic, I know how that may be difficult, but I would definitely try to build up a bit more activity.

I didn’t see this anywhere and I think it would be interesting to see either a forum or a series of threads that revolved around news about Akiko Shikata. What is she up to, is she on tour, how did you first hear about her, etc.? Maybe even a bit more personal information about her can be brought up like a bit of her history, i.e. how she got started, what kind of work she does, etc.

I have one major gripe over the site. When you click the link to go to the portal I didn’t see any link to go to the main forum which was a bit confusing. It took me a moment to think, “Oh, click the banner, duh.” So, I would suggest either adding a clear button indicating how to enter the forum or somehow make it more obvious that if you click the banner you enter the forum for those who don’t think about that. Other than that, I like the site and wish you the best of luck with it. ^^

From 1,100 posts my forum has now, actually around 600 are made from general discussions. While I can't say I'm very happy with that, I can't help much because the niche is very specific and sometimes there aren't much things to discuss so people would go to general discussion. I decided to overlook this part and let members have fun the way they want; as long as they are content with the forum it would be fine by me.

The first section you see at the forum called "Divine Channel" has this purpose actually. We do try to get discussions going on there, and I try to start new topics regularly to keep members interested. However the artist herself is rather secretive so yeah, we are having a hard time as well. I'll keep on trying, though.

Oh, wow, I never thought of that. You can hit the forum by clicking "Pantalea" at the navigation bar to the left of the word "Portal" or click on the huge header which has a picture of the artist and the word "Pantalea". Well, I can consider that, thanks for the input!
