Extra Notes: Some feedback on the overall design and presentation of the forum be appreciated. The forum is in it's very early stages and hasn't officially been released yet. Select Your Character is a gaming and roleplay forum. We also plan to switch to selectyourcharacter.net soon.

I actually really like the design of this towards the middle/end.

I would strongly suggest you get a new header images that complements your logo and that doesn't leave a giant grey space.

I find the icons for the boards a little hard to see, even when onces lit up. Maybe make them a little brighter, and make the "new posts" one a teal color, like you have on the rest of your board.

I also find the white text in the posts to be a little weird. Maybe dimming it down a tad ot make it readable, but not "white" as it is now. To be honest, the text color for everything else is fine, so making the post color the same color as the rest of your normal text would be great. (#969696)

Other than that, I actually like the design of the forum and I do not normally like most dark themes.

And since it's in the early stages I'm sure you're aware of the whole "lack of posts" in some boards. Lol.

Overall, I love it. Just change some of the bright white text to a more calmer grey and switch out that header image for something that is complementing the forum/logo, and you'll be set. ^.^

I love the theme that you are using over at your forum. The colours are great and the logo looks really good too. There are some issues with your alignment with the poster avatar being aligned differently in every category. This can be easily fixed and would make your index look much more cleaner. You have a good amount of forums but most of them are empty so you need to start posting in them a bit more 😉

@kingcool52 - Thanks a lot for the feedback. I (think) I've fixed up the alignment issue and later today the staff members and myself will try and put some topics and extra content into the forum.

Compaired to other start up forums with extensions (icyboards) your site looks quite nice. However I did see a find few minor errors that bothered me.

All you have to do is either add some padding or a margin to the bottom of the time.

Second was the miscellaneous "}" character. It is just outside of the quote template, so I would suggest looking in the postbit to remove it.

My first impression of SYC is rather neutral. Nothing blows me away and immediately makes me want to look around SYC, but while at the same time, nothing makes me want to run away screaming. Your header could use some improvement. I see you're using a calendar (which is a MyBB/IcyBoards default), but you have nothing on it. Having an event calender is an awesome thing to have, but at the same time, an empty one is just sucking up space. I'd recommend you just remove it, there really isn't a reason to keep it at this stage in your forum's life.

Your theme is really good. It's a dark theme, but it's not a theme that's hard on the eyes, which is a major plus. Your logo could use some work. One of the biggest things you can do to help set an image of your forum is to have a quality, identifyable logo. The best way to do this is with an image in your logo. Right now, you have some form of line in your logo. While this is better than bland text, it's certainly not as good as it could be. Adding something like a robot or a game character could give your forum a little better identity, especially to a first time viewer.

Your spelling is flawless. Your grammar is good, but not great. The little inconsistencies in your forum descriptions and names is a little confusing. The use of a "And" and a "/" is mixed up a little bit. For example: "Steam Group Announcements/Events", for consistency reasons, should be "Steam Group Announcements and Events". If you're worried about having that description being too long, you could always change it to "&" instead (but then you should change all the "and"s, to stay consistent.).
