A lot has happened lately. I have added us to a small known topsite so you may vote using the button on the top of our forum. IF I find that this is popular and it is more than just me voting, I may add us to some other topsites where we can get more traffic. Also, I have been adding many mods
to the forum. Since I have finally learned how to successfully do this, I would love to know what you would liked added.

One of these mods is the arcade mod. It will be available only to VIP users, however, unlike other forums, you do not have to pay to become a VIP user. All you have to do is be active on the forum, and then you will get a pm from me asking if you'd like to become a VIP user. Currently the only
upsides to being a VIP user is a colored username, a separate board away from the rest of the forum, and the arcade, but I am open to suggestions!

Also, we have gotten another interview, this time with a new very talented author named Lynne Burke who ws just recently made into published author with the success of her new book, In Small Measures. It is about a woman in the mid-1900's whose family disapproves of her affair with a black man with whom she has a baby with. The story starts out with her getting an emergency "C" section. Well, a lot has been happening lately. Just tonight we reached over 5400 posts, which is no big milestone, but it is still good that we are getting a steady flow of posts and activity. We could get even more if you would join and be active.

Also, we have 2 more Author Interviews up. One from Brian Falkner, author of Tomorrow Code and one from Stephanie Bodeen, author of The Compound. Please check them out and feel free to comment on them!

Next, I plan on installing a cash/shop mod for the forum, but so far the only thing I plan on selling there are VIP Memberships and maybe User Blogs if I can figure out how to make them. Other than that, I am idea-less. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know!

Speaking of VIP Memberships, aside from selling them for forum cash, I also plan on giving them to special and contributive members who feel deserve it. These include, but are not limited to, those who are especially active and provide ideas to the community and those who actively promote us either by word of mouth, facebook, twitter, or any other way of dragging in new and dedicated members. The current benefits of VIP Memberships are:

More PM room (50 to 150)
A Purple username
Access to the Arcade room and Private Board.
I also plan on adding a cash system too which you can use to buy a VIP Membership, so you will get a bonus amount of 1000 forum cash per month to spend on items, though other than VIP membership, I am not sure what else will be added.

Well, Christmas is almost heree, and along with that our contest is coming to an end. We are nearly halfway done, and so far the leader is Grump with 41 posts! Next is Fiona1984 with 14 and then Bejay with only 3. Come on guys, you can still join and win 10 dollars!

Well we have finally reached 6000 posts! So far this change has been pretty good to us and our activity 🙂

Hello!
We are 4 days away from our 1 year birthday, and a lot has happened to get here. One is that we have now reached over 6,400 posts and over 1000 topics! Another is that we have acquired 8 interviews with some famous and soon-to-be famous authors!
While we have gone through a lot to get to this point, many things will be changing. The main things that will be changing have been mentioned in this thread: http://fictionlovers.org/mybb/announcements.php?aid=1. Now, we have decided to add one more. We will be adding an Authors group. This group will have VIP access and a special page dedicated to all the authors who have taken the time out of their busy schedule to join the forum and post, and answer an interview!

Well, after around 6 months, i feel that I should get back to this forum and see if I can bring it back to life. We are almost turning 18 months old and I would like to try to get a little bit of activity back before this date. This gives us around a week so I'd better get started, huh?

So after almost 10 months, Naiwen decided it was time to resign because he had no time left for many forums. Just wanted to say that it was great working with you, and thanks for all your help. Well so far things have been going ok activity wise. It could do better, but I am not complaining.

Currently I am trying to save up so we can get XenForo. I am at 100 dollars at the moment and should be at the right amount by Saturday. At that time I will be able to get the license and then about a week later we will merge over to it. By then I should have a theme installed and the required mods installed. I must also warn you, most likely, your password will be reset, so if have joined, or join within that time, please keep that in mind. So that’s the story on the XenForo merge.

Right now, what we need is some activity. As I said before, we are doing ok, but we couldbe doing much better. If you like reading books, watching movies, watching tv shows, or writing yourself, please join our community. We’d love to meet you. See you at http://fictionlovers.org

It is my pleasure to say that we are now running xenForo on our forums. We have successfully converted, but some things such as passwords, signatures, and attachments may have been lost in the conversion. You may need to have these reset. If you are having problems resetting any of these, feel free to contact either through the contact page at http://fictionlovers.org or by replying to this thread. Also, if you see anything out of place or not right, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.
I have added 4 styles aside from the default for you to choose from. We have 2 dark styles and 2 light styles. They come in the colors of blue and green. If you’d like, I can other colors such as purple and yellow.
I am working on adding addons to make your forum viewing pleasure even better. If there are any you would like me to add, please let me know and I’d be happy to add it.

Also, as you can see, there are spaces where I plan to add advertisements in the future. This is just to make a little money to pay for hosting and domain costs. Hopefully these shouldn’t be too much of a hindrance to you.

So far, the move to xenForo has seemed to pretty successful. We will be staying on 1.0.4 until 1.1 gets out of beta.

Fiction Lovers now has 7092 posts and 302 members. I know we can do better, so please help us with this. We have boards for books, movies, authors, television shows, and even a place for your own writing. If any of these subjects interest you, you will love this forum.
