Find On Forums - new search engine for searching discussions on forums

Find On Forums is tweaked Google Custom Search Engine. It produces relevant results aimed at forums which are different comparing to default Google search.

It makes searching discussions on forums easier.

thanks.

Great concept but I was hoping Christianity Haven would come up when I searched Christian message board.

Thanks. I'm aware that the search is not quite perfect - on some searches it happens to not show some forum which maybe should be shown. That's up to GCSE code which is not available for further tweaking, so I'm unable to perfect the search results further.

NIce good luck

Thanks.

Different concept here. Are there little tips & tricks to help refine the search results?

Same as in default Google search, beside your keywords you can type for example site:nameofthesite to show results from that site only. You can try other Google advanced search parameters as well like inurl: , intitle: , etc.

I mean, well done on the effort but by using Google Custom Search you're just routing searches through Google so you might as well just use that direct to be honest. What you really need to do is create a directory of forums as that'll yield (fewer) but better results.

It is a Google search, but it's tweaked / aimed to give relevant results aimed at forums. Search results are different comparing to default Google when you try to search forums. Plus you don't have to type terms like "discussions" every time, so the search is a little easier.

I also think that the search results are better with relying on Google than making a limited directory.

I can say that I use these 2 search engines daily in combination with Google, and they are proving to be useful, especially Find On Reddit.

As Puppuccino mentioned, I think a directory you actively monitor/create, or a script that pulls this from several sources could work a little better as all the site is at present is a Google Search API.
