If you put "g" before you type something in the url bar, it will search for it on google

I actually did something similar the other day. Typing in 'da' will redirect to DeviantArt.

If you type anything that isn't a domain into firefox it will search it for you on google. Write in ''blah'' even, it will bring you to this page: http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&o ... s=1&q=blah

Also if you google, ''da'', the first result is deviantArt. So it picks the first result and redirects you to it. Analyse the bottom right hand corner of firefox and you'll see it will say ''looking up 'da' '', then ''waiting for google.com'' and then it will bring you to deviantArt. 😉

What version of firefox are you running? If I put ''blah'' into the Firefox URL bar it does a google search for that term...

Oh, it does then. But not when I put a g in front of it.

Look at the first post I made in the thread.

Since I don't use firefox I can't do it, but on Google Chrome you just type into the address a word and it automatically takes you to google search 😉

Wont work for me, I use the Google search in the top right when I need Google

Either that or add a hosts entry.
Now all i have to do is type " go " in firefox and it goes to google.

Open: My Computer/C/Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
Add after the last line:
Code:
74.125.155.105 go #	Google
And change go to whatever you want 🙂
