Firefox 4 Beta - Download

Not really. That was 64bit Firefox v.3. This is the proper link to the download of the beta test of Firefox v.4.

They basically cloned opera's theme.
I opened up both the latest opera (just upgraded) and FF4. I was clicking back and forth between both browsers to look at the differences and I could not really find many.

FF4 put the tabs above the address bar and the refresh button, home button, the back/forward buttons next to the address bar just like opera did.

Opera seems more compact though as the whole menu bar is condensed into one small drop down menu (placed to the left of your tabs) which gives you a quarter inch more viewing space.

Thanks for the confirmation theezy.

I downloaded the FF beta version and it seems unoriginal when you put it up against Opera.

Original or not, I still like it. 😀

Haven't found any bugs or glitches yet and Ive been using it for 2 days. Not all of my plug-in's work though (yet). 🙁

I'll have to download this when I get on my desktop but just judging from the screens yeah it looks like Opera.

Chrome will still probably remain my main browser though, sorry Firefox!

So firefox has the tabs up top and it clones opera? so is opera a clone of google chrom when they copied GC's top tabs?

It doens't look the same to me and you can alter firefox back t how it looks in v3... which will most likely happen... I don't really like the look of FF4 but the top tabs does look good and I'll probably keep it...

Agreed.

I like the new look, going along with how both Opera and Chrome is going. I will use it for the extensions I use, but Opera will always have a place in my heart.

Thanks for the heads up on this one, having never tried Opera I think I'll give it a go for a while and report back my findings in a day or two 😉

For me, I made the (not so) bold switch to Opera from Firefox. I heard about the great speeds with Opera so I tried it. The interface it quite different to the previous FF and IE designs, but I got use to it after a week. After that, I have rarely used to FF or IE.

I quite like the Copy/Paste presets, Very useful 🙂

Mmmm that's food for thought David, thanks :great:

I just downloaded it and am gonna try it out now, will post back with whatever I find (if anything) 🙂

Edit: It seems ok, quite quick, supports the add-ons I previously had, the only disadvantage of noticed is the bookmarks toolbar is no longer next to my tabs (although there's probably a setting to control). So far so good though :great:
