I doubt your computer was hacked, but I do believe there is something installed on your computer that got ahold of your browser settings and tweaked the settings. Normally things you download from sketchy websites or toolbars can be the culprit.

Might be possible that changes made from Firefox. They changes homepage of all members that have been using it. And my be they introduce their client's or their sites to you.
