Unfortunately, I don't think I can offer much advice. I can say, that the only true way to become a good admin is by experience. Yes, it helps to have people tell you things, but by experience, you know what works, what doesn't work, and what's the good/bad things to do.

Thanks, I made it myself, and I made everything myself at that... I was told to come here for advice and it's also a good place to advertise as well, but IDK... What would you say is a good amount of avatar packs to start off with... I have about 20 so far...
Here's some of my work just so y'all know what I'm trying to accomplish.
Like I love avatars... Everything about them. Making them, looking at them, wearing them... I just want others to share my passion and to teach how to make some decent looking sets or packs. That's the focus of my forum.

I can already see that the avatars that you have are unique, and have style to them.
Thanks and I am a perfectionist so it takes me like 45 minutes to make just one icon. Each of those have like 3-4 different versions lmao. The main reason I decided to start this forum was because well I showcased some of them and got wow ratings and everyone loved them, so I decided to make a forum to teach others how I did it and hopefully get more talented designers to help me out. 🙂

I'll tell you this now, since it will most likely happen later on if/when your forum gets bigger. If you spend a ton of time on something, and you really want it to stay on your site, most likely it will get stolen and end up on another site. I have about 3GB of legal bootlegs that I posted on my forum, within weeks a rival forum stole all of them.Karrit said:

My only advice would be to make sure you have a decent amount of content before you release it and keep building the content, members arent going to join if it looks dead.

As for your forum host (Invisionfree), you've probably done the right thing and used a remotely hosted site for your forum. Self-hosting can be pretty intimidating. While self-hosting does provide more, you should really learn the basics of running a forum before going onto something like that, which IF should provide.

You should try and be the very best, like no avatar database ever was. And to have the best avatars will be your test, distributing them should be your cause. People are going to travel across the internet searching far and wide for avatars, so you have to get to the top of the google search for avatars to show them the power thats inside of your site.
